The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is seeking candidates for the
position of Director for Memphis/Northern Mississippi. The successful
candidate will bring knowledge of the Memphis area market, possess the
ability to expand ADA's sphere of influence and have demonstrated
success in coaching a team in a results-oriented, fast-paced
environment. Key responsibilities include building the Volunteer
Leadership Board, developing corporate relationships and engaging
community volunteers and staff to plan and execute special events and
community outreach. This position requires leadership, excellent
organizational capacity, self initiative, creative planning and
management skills. Qualified candidates should have a proven track
record of planning and executing special events that have raised six
figures or more. Strong presentation skills, oral and written are a
requirement. This position reports to the Executive Director of
Tennessee.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Five consecutive years of similar work experience
- Demonstrated experience of coaching and leading a team to success
- Experience with income and expense procedures and reporting
- Familiarity with financial reports and analysis
- Ability to travel extensively in the Memphis/Northern Mississippi
markets
- Some early mornings/evenings/weekends required
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
